Frequently Asked Questions
What is FAQ schema?
FAQ schema (FAQPage) is structured data that marks up a list of questions and answers on a page. It tells search engines and AI tools exactly which questions the page answers, and what the answers are.
Does Google still show FAQ rich results?
Only for some sites. Since August 2023, Google shows FAQ rich results mainly for well-known, authoritative government and health websites. For most sites, FAQ schema won't add expandable questions under your listing, but it's still valid markup that helps search engines and AI tools understand your content.
Is FAQ schema still worth adding?
Yes, if you have a real FAQ section. It takes minutes, it's valid schema.org markup, and it gives search engines and AI tools a clean, structured version of your answers. Just don't expect a visual change in Google results.
What are the rules for FAQ schema?
Only mark up questions and answers that are visible on the page. Use it for questions with one official answer, not forums or user-submitted Q&A, and don't use it for advertising. If the same question appears on several pages, mark it up on one of them.
Where do I add FAQ schema?
Paste the code into the head or body of the page that shows the FAQ. In Webflow, use the page's custom code settings. In WordPress, use your SEO plugin or a code plugin. In HubSpot, use the page's head HTML.
